HISTORY
Various imported polymer emulsions have been around the soil stabilisation industry for a number of years. Some have performed quite well, but their cost has made them totally unaffordable. Whereas, the cheaper products (often watered-down versions of the expensive imports) just were not up to the job. This is why Rainstorm has developed a "made-in-Australia" polymer emulsion which combines all the best features of the existing expensive imported polymers with affordability.

Rainstorm created Gluon 240 after trialing dozens of formulations including those products already on the market in Australia and overseas. The top performers always seemed to be triple the price of the mediocre ones. Yet, by coming up with it’s own Australian-Made formulation, Rainstorm has achieved a level of ease and performance as good or better than any other product in the world - but at an economical price.

DESCRIPTION
Gluon 240 is a white, concentrated, liquid polymer emulsion which is infinitely soluble when delivered but is totally insoluble when cured. A water-based emulsion, Gluon 240 mixes very readily with water which is used as a carrying agent and is then sprayed onto, or mixed into, the surface to be treated.

Available in 20 litre to 200 litre containers it is easily transported to distant job-sites and can often be applied with existing equipment onsite. Traditional methods of sand stabilisation for broad-acre and embankment work have meant booking in an outside contractor for the application of paper mulch or the purchase of the expensive polymers. There was always a trade-off of speed or cost or effectiveness. Gluon 240, being a concentrated, affordable polymer can be keep onsite for use when required. This could be when adverse wind conditions are forecast or just to "lock-down" a site prior to a break in the work schedule.

Depending upon your requirements, Gluon 240 can be used for either short-term or long-term stabilisation - ranging from a long weekend to six months or more, and is adjusted by application rates chosen. In fact, a heavy application incorporated into the sand can be used to construct a helipad if you require that level of performance.

METHODS OF USE
With one litre treating up to 50 square metres and infinite solubility in water, Gluon 240 lends itself extremely well to application by existing watering equipment onsite. After all, there is no cheaper way to do a job than by utilizing equipment already present. This also means that there is no more waiting for an outside sub-contractor to move his equipment onto your job-site when the sand is blowing and he is trying to meet the requirements of every other project in town at the same time.

It also lends itself very well to the use of dyes and because a little bit goes a long way, it is easy to store or to transport to those job-sites out of town.

It can be applied by water-cart, watercannon or hand-held hose onto any horizontal or vertical surface. It is merely mixed in with water and sprayed on to the surface requiring stabilisation. If you don’t want to do the application yourself Rainstorm can arrange to do it for you.
